A Word of Thanks

We hope that you, your families and your students are keeping safe and well at this time.

Having spent recent weeks dealing with events as they unfolded, I would like to take the time to send you a heartfelt message of thanks. The world is facing an unprecedented challenge, unlike anything I have experienced in my lifetime. We know that many of you will be dealing with difficult situations yourselves, both personally and professionally.

Given this, a huge thank-you for your messages of support and your practical help. In particular, your willingness to work together with us to adapt your plans and re-schedule course dates. We know that sometimes cancelling a course is the only option, but for every cancelled course there is a significant knock-on effect for a great many people. So, on behalf of the Company, its support staff and its teachers, thank you for doing what you can by rescheduling rather than cancelling your plans.

We are temporarily running our operations with a reduced office team, but we will still be able to get back to you if you have any queries – it might just take slightly longer than usual, and responses may come from the Support Team rather than from the named individuals you are used to dealing with. If you have a course booked with us, please check out this update. It should answer many of the questions you may have.

I would also ask for one further piece of help. As a company, we regularly provide work for hundreds of teachers, many of whom will be struggling to support themselves and their families at this time. We have been thinking about how best to support them during the current period. As a result, we are launching an online tutoring platform called EiA Live. You can view the website here and we would be extremely grateful if you could share this link with any students or parents who might be interested.

Nearly 30 years ago, English in Action was the first organisation to offer in-school project weeks. Since then, we have become a by-word for quality English provision. We continue to set the benchmark for competitors and to pioneer developments with excellent teaching, specialist course provision and high-quality course materials. We are looking forward to celebrating our 30th birthday with you once we are past the current crisis.

One thing is for sure, the world will be a very different place once this is over. My team and I are determined that it will be a world in which education prospers.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message. Make sure you stay safe and we will see you again in the not too distant future.
